with a proper dx for ds2. bit of background info- he received dx of dyspraxia last september when he was 7.3 years. i was very relieved as it meant he started getting some help at school. however, i did/do not believe that dyspraxia is his only problem. i went back to our gp recently as the only professional he has seen since his dx was the ot. he has now been referred to the ed psych and we will be meeting with her at school on thursday. he also has a follow up with the original ot who assessed him on 9th june, and we are waiting for an appt with the local paed team. the possibilities are that he either has AS or HFA but im not sure which one sounds more like him. he was an extremely early talker and could hold a conversation by the time he started walking at 18 months old, he does however have various social problems, more with children than adults. he hand flaps and finger sucks constantly, and if his fingers are not in his mouth they are playing with his toes. he has major meltdowns over silly little things and is very immature. lets see what the ed psych thinks.

Good luck for Thursday. Make sure you take 'that list' with you to make the most of the appointment

thank you. i am still wondering which one is more like him, the problems i listed here are not his only problems, just a few examples. have listed all his problems to take with me on thursday. does anyone know if the ed psych will be able to tell me whether he has AS/HFA?

Hi Cherry, every area is different but ed psychs here do not diagnose but recognise and advise. So I suspect he/she will not tell you. Good luck.
