Can anyone point me to a reasonably accessible description of the different elements of receptive language?

If not, I'll try searching through the oevre of David Crystal but he's written a lot of books.....

Moondog may be the one to help. Sorry, that's the best I can suggest!

thanks Davros, think Moondog is even busier than usual just now.

But look what I found! A book called "receptive language difficulties" by Liz Baldwin.

Sounds just the thing and have ordered from Amazon.

Lingle, Dorothy Bishop is a big name in this field and you could tackle her stuff no problem

Link to her page and then go to Publications and pick one that suits.

Tiptop academic (although not ABA person)

This was one of standard texts on my SALT p/g course

It's a meaty read (as you can tell by price)

You might like to snoop around the Royal College of SLTs website

It's for practitioners and practical working matters really but does link you to places that offer it as a course of study and you could ring them and ask for current coursebook recommendations.
