DS is 14, has CP and also suffers severe anxiety. All of this I'm sure you know.

Yesterday he was making curry and needed a tin of tomatoes which we didn't have. He said he could go to the Co-op round the corner for them.
He and dd(7) set out, with £2, a mobile phone and a shopping bag. One return visit for a coat.
One phone call to say they were on the way back.
Another phone call to say they'd turned into our road.
Then they were back. This is the first time he has ever done anything like this.
The curry was fab (dd did all the veg) and the ds was extremely pleased with the whole thing.
Now to talk him into going on the school journey in Sept...

Well I have to pour in anything heavy cos his left hand's not a lot of help.
And to add to the kudos, he saw a school friend at the hairdressers next to the Co-op so is extremely pleased that news of his derring-do will be all around the school.
Still says he's not going on the school journey (all of 4 days) in September.
But he knows I have just completed the form for him to go and sent the deposit.
We can fight this one out later.

Good for him. My mum started sending me to the local shops (two streets away) when I was 15 with a list of what to buy and the money.
