I went to naidex on wednesday as well

I've now got dh hard at work nailing various household brushes and mops onto a bit of wood Came over all Catherine Tate 'I can do that!' seeing stuff

Alas can't make music motion sensors

Have seen bed for dd - OT said to go and have a look as they've agreed to fund

Oh did you get any of them new freebie cup things? The non spill ones? Haven't tried em with dd yet (she seems to have forgotten how to drink) but working a treat for my ds

FairLadyOfMuslinCloth · 01/05/2009 16:20

no didn't get any non-spill cups....but hopefully they will work for your dd....

I was truely amazed by some of the stuff...although, didn't take that much notice of those big and posh things...was more interested (at this time) to look at the more low cost but effective stuff....

I listened to a Sensory and Play session (at teh Kids zone) and it was amazing....the lady obviously was truely passionate about it....and had so many tips on how to make sensory equipment from household products...

Itook part in a session with those whizz kidz, it was a wheel chair dance session, and they had some adult sized wheelchairs for non-wheelchair users....it was a fabulous experience, as it gave me more of an idea what sort of challenges one has in a wheel chair, and how scary it feels when you feel you tip backwards....

Not sure you saw them, but as we were walking around, I saw the guy that played Mini me (Verne somehting...) with his family....

One of my favourite parts was the Canine partners talk...so inspirational....

wow no - I missed verne troy

I caught the tail end of that talk and chatted to lady afterwards. She was v good

wasn't she just...
someone mentioned today (at Uni) that next year they will make visiting Naidex part of the curriculum
Although, there was quite a few from my cohort there...(Wednesday was the only day we could go, due to it being the only full free day in the week)....
I also had a very interesting talk with the lady from Blue Badge....she was urging me and my friend on to see if the Uni will make it part of their curriculum (for OT) to teach about all the different allowances, charities, etc....because, as she rightly pointed out, as OT's one is sort of in the position to point people in the right direction for help...but only if one knows about these things....
(I have to sy, that we are of course encouraged to learn in free study abotu these things...the problem is, you don't know what you don't know...)
