DS1 has an ASD but this was not picked up until he started school though glaringly obvious with hindsight!
DS2, has been showing increasingly bad behaviour - aggression, biting, sensory seeking - the list is endless. I asked our HV to visit, expecting to be fobbed off, and be told he was responding to big brothers behaviour and was just a little lively, but no.
She agrees there is cause for concern. She said he is an extremely bright boy who has behavioural issues and impulsivity/attention problems.
So here we go again along the paediatric referral and assessment route. I have such mixed emotions. Part of me feels DS is just immature but I have that niggle that wont go away. I wasn't expecting to be believed so easily .
I suspect we are looking at ADHD rather than anything spectrummy, as he is so tuned in to everything. Definite sensory problems though.

Thats good that the HV is referring you straight away, yet that you have to do it all again.
Keep us up to date. Did she say how long it might take?

DS2 is 3 next month. Seems to take up to 4 months around here, but HV is going to put us in touch with a behavioural specialist in the meantime.
As DH says, if we can cope with one, then why not 2?

Well that was my thoughts exactly when I got pregnant with DS3 last year. Whats one more when you already have 1?
Thats a great attitude to have

It's always a bittersweet thing - great that your concerns are being taken seriously, but upsetting that the concerns are there at all. Good luck to your and your family wmf - I hope the assessment process is quick and easy for you.

I've got the grandparents on my back now, of course, saying there is absolutely nothing wrong with him!
(They didn't think there was anything wrong with Ds1 either).
I'm developing a very thick skin and trusting my instincts.

Thanks for your words of support.
