Here are some suggested organisations that offer expert advice on special needs.

Hmm, something at work made me think of this board...

On the phones today (I book people into a rather well known resort ) I was speaking with a lovely lady who had a DS with autism. She was so lovely, and I really wanted to help her. She was very patient with me, I was trying to help get her the best hotel room to suit her son's needs and helped her to sort out an issue with her free tickets (hopefully). Wonder if it was anyone on here? If the lady reads this, you know who you are and I hope they listened to you

Just thought I'd share I like when people are willing to explain things to me and help eliminate some of my ignorance, I really feel like I learned something today.

It wasn't me but i spoke to a lovely lady at Park Resorts a few weeks ago, she managed to find us a mobile home at the resort away from any noise so dd2 would sleep without being woken by people walking past at night, she was very helpful and wanted to make our stay with dd2 (ASD) as nice as possible.

You do? If I'm honest, I'm a sponge when it comes to learning about stuff, and if learning can help me help people then it's all good!

I think I must have a glow round my phoneline or something! I had ANOTHER really, really positive call and this time I knew what I was talking about!

Had a lady come on to do something or other, and she mentioned 2 of the party were disabled, so I immediately thought "Better check they don't need one of the adapted rooms and didn't mention it".

So anyway, this lady's DS was visually impaired, so that was one talking point. He also had the same form of eye cancer as the sister of one of my uni friends, which is very rare, so to know of 2 people who've had it is pretty amazing. So I helped her sort out her booking and I think that being on a similar wavelength really helped (her dd also has arthritis and my granddad suffers with this...)

It must just be me!
