(Bi)language diary for SLT

I've been doing a language diary to keep tabs on DS (3) while we wait for assessment. To the extent to which he speaks, DS is bilingual (I'm Italian). Just going by the language diary, DS seems to be doing better in Italian than in English: not so much in terms of words, but more verbs, more sentences, more 'showing' sentences, rather than just 'requesting' sentences, a few 'emotion' words, and he seems to understand some prepositions and 'now/then'. Above all, he doesn't have echolalia in Italian, I guess because his echolalia is all from TV or the bus/train announcements and they're all in English. Now, my question to MNetters with experience of language delays, if not necessarily of bilingualism, is: should I present this info to the SLT at the assessment, and if so, how? Will it look like I'm completely biased? Should I just let the experts get on with it - is it actually in my interest if things look as bad as possible, so DS gets more help?

I'm an s/lt. Did she ask you to do this? Great idea.
Just be honest. Tell it like it is. Is she bilingual herself? I really think you have to be to understand these issues. [I'm trilingual myself.]
