i have asd child, she is a lovely little girl but all she does from am - pm is scream, open and close doors, shoves everything in sight under the seetees in r living room, turns tv on /off etc the list goes on.

why like today does it seem so much harder i feel like today i cant cope and i just want to turn the noise off.

i know that people on here such as riven have far greater issues than me, and i should be thankful that she is up and jumping about sorry am just having a rant.

It is tough - How old is she ? DS1 was like this, apart from the screaming, from 2-3. Many things do change with time.

she is 5 cyber, and i am dreading the next 2 weeks with the easter hols.

sometimes the screaming is just unreal need to get them to bed here, before i explode.

Yes i know what you mean. I'm dreading the next 2 weeks, i have 2 with ASD (aged 3 and 5), Dd2 has started having huge meltdowns/tantrums and has just had a huge one as i tried to get her ready for bed, she spends most of the day getting things out which i have just put away, dd1 has spent all day asking for food and moaning , only 2 weeks to go .

I never used to hate dislike the school holidays up until this one. DS2 has now decided he wants to either be carried or in his pram. A bit of a hard job when I've got a 4 month old as well, who is the size of a mini sumo wrestler and kills my back when in the sling. Ds2 is only 3.6, but the height of a 4.6 year old and carrying him is hard work.

Looks like its 2 weeks mostly at home for now

marne, god i am glad it isnt only me with the food problem my dd1 goes in and out of the fridge all day for yoghurts etc it cracks me up, its like she doesnt know when she is full.

there should be more for sn kids at holidays i mean we could have her in a easter hols scheme for 2 pd a day if she was hate to say it 'normal'.

i sometimes feel like running away, and then i feel bad bcus i shout or grump about, am on my own at minute as hubby is doing nightshifts so have no help day/night.

Welcome to the Easter holidays!
After a weekend of wailing I know exactly where you are coming from. I feel sick at the thought of 2 weeks holiday, as DS1 is having difficulty leaving the house atm. Staying in is not an option as I have a 3yr old DS2 who needs some outlet.
The weighted blanket is in regular use here.
I'm hoping to get a 'buddy' who can go with him to a holiday club in the summer holidays as I am reaching the end of my tether.
I joke that he gets 1:1 at school, but at home he only gets 1:2, except its not really much of a joke .
The constant food thing is familiar. It rings in my ears all day 'What can I have to eat'. Problem is he only eats certain foods so I quickly run out of options.
On a positive note, we have had a giggle on the trampoline this evening - I'm hanging on to that

DS1 has been at home since we took him out of nursery last year so holidays don't register as much - it will seem strange if we get a school place for August.
