ds1 2.7 asd and ds2 are both screaming their heads off and hev beeen for last 2 hours. Both are teething so have just given both a dose of calpol ds2 will not go to sleep despit it being nap time and he is showing signs of being tired. ds1 is screaming at every noise he makes. i am suprised police have not been round. i have tried to ring other half at work he is busy i have nobody to ask for help. i dont know what to doo i just want to walk out am typing this trying to hold ds2 and ds1 screaming at stairgate to room. ffs if it bothers him that much why does he just go to his room instead of fucking screaming and making ds2 worse.

Put them in the pushchair - go for a walk and let some fresh air clear your head, and hopefully get them to sleep. Good luck!

have you got a weighted blanket?..... fab for calming meldowns!..... i know i keep on about them , but they work so well( if i had my way they would be avaiable on prescription,......do you have "safe space for ds1? , can you get some nice music on and see if it calms him? .... hope its over soon xxx

hungryhippo, how are you doing this morning? xx

emergency over (for now) took ds2 upstairs and rocked to sleepwhile calpol worked magic. downstairs is ds1 friendly he can only really damage other things not himself, anyway as ds 2 calmed down so did ds1 dont know if calpolwas working magic on him as well. he is now watching peppa pig as if nothing happened. I have arthritis so going for a long walk is diificult also cant get ds1 in pushchair in that state without harm to both of us. drlove8 is there anywhere we can try weighted blankets ds1 seems to have blanket phobia in his cot but will lay under duvet on our bed next to me for hours as long as it is over his head. dont want to spend a fortune if he hates it.

i dont know hungry, will try find out for you . i bought dd4's , was expensive ,but i think it was worth it.... you can get smaller lap pads or belts and scarfs that are about £ 30 .i tried using a microwave beenie for dd4 at first as a scarf to see if she'd accept it, but she's really small. some of the other mums have suggested wraping the LO in a duvet to calm him....thats enough to work for some kids!

When my son went into meltdown and wouldnt stop cyring put him in front of the washing machine, dunno if it was the noise or the stuff going round, but seemed to calm him. He is 10 now and he still sometimes sits on the floor with his face against the washing machine when he is really upset.Think it may be a sensory thing so I reckon the blanket thing may work too. But then sopme kids dont want anything touching them so you just got to try these things. I found the occupational therapist really helpful. We have an excellent one. It took a while to get an appointment but was well worth the wait. Speak to your doctor to get a referral or your paed.
