Hi! You have my sympathy ds could never keep covered up and we all suffered!
I may have misunderstood but is the problem that ds1 is getting cold, falling over, or that he cannot himself get back down into a lieing down position to fall asleep (because he has moved backwards)? Are you trying to find something that stops him sitting up?
I have heard of button down top cot bedding - someone will remember the name to google it. Did not use this myself. We used an elastic duvet strap to keep the duvet in place (from blooming marvelous) but not till ds was in a bed. Would a warm sleep suit help keep him keep warm and make it easier sort himself out? Would raising the top end of the cot (if medically suitable) , perhaps with a very smooth bottom sheet) help him slip backdown?
Hope you find a solution!

hi magso, the prob isnt him being cold, itsbecos he gets stuck in the corner of his cot or bangs his head etc...the button blanket and elastic ting sounds great. He hs just turned 2 and goin in bed soon

Ds used to get stuck across his cot he sort of rotated till he was jammed!
I think the button on system was French - still cannot get the name (dodgy memory - long time ago!) hopefully someone will know! I went for the strap system because it was cheaper ( available locally) and could be used in a bed. Will try and find links.

Try this www.amazon.co.uk/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=duvet+clips&tag=googhdr-21&hvadid=3265126351&ref=pd_sl_8vqlrrkv ls.b Ds broke his duvet clip once he got able enough to tug at the duvet. Also Babygro do a 'first duvet' which poppers together which sounds similar (and equally pricey) to the system I looked at.

I mean Grobag first duvet!

Thanks magso!!! Gonna order the duvet clips? Think they would work on his cot quilt? He only sat up one time tonight as I put him down....he then fell asleep, but he had a seizure earlier and had to give him midazolam, and on top of tht he has melatonin going to bed so he will be shattered

Oh poor little chap!
I think the duvet clip is intended for cot or single duvet. My worry might be getting it in the right place to gently discourage siting up without restricting essential movement (breathing!) whilst still allowing fast access for adults.
Good luck and hope ds wakes up feeling better.
