Just left dd and the dog for 5 mins whilst in the kitchen, come back and dd2 had placed clothes over the dog (in the rite places), the dog was wearing dd's skirt and my jumper dress . The dog didn't look bothered at all.

Does this cound as imaginitive play?

depends on how the dog was dressed, if its dressed in a business suit no not imaginitive but practical

in reality yes, she/he is anthropomorphising the dog which is imaginitive in its self

We had an imagination break through as well. DS1 saw a chair with a black stripe on it which he said was a seat belt so this got him really into a game of pretending that the chair was a car - It is the first time he has done this - although he did have a tumble last week when trying to turn a wine rack into escalators. He has always been able to object substitute in play but the car pretend seems more advanced esp. as it was all unprompted and unexpected.
