hi i'm new, does anyone have a child with DS that has trouble getting ANYTHING to fit on their feet?? my daughters feet are too wide for sandles, wellies, pumps for school, i have to do a 40mile round trip to get her school shoes and trainers from clarkes as they don't do the "h" fit in my area and they too are still not perfect she has to have a size bigger than she is to get them to fit for the width.... please help.... x

Hi, dd2 (not ds) has very wide feet and is a H in clarks, i go to our local clarks factory shop as they often have a H fitting or i buy them on e-bay. My local clarks only go up to a G in girls shoes but stock H in boys sizes. I cant find any sandles for dd2 but can get her feet into croc's which she lives in in the summer.

hi sorry trying to learn the lingo, read a few pages with dd2 on, what's that mean??
good idea about croc's will try them again this year, they were too narrow also last year, but will try again.
don't really wanna buy off ebay as the shoes have to be right and the girls in clarkes have enough trouble fitting her with h fitting shoes as they arn't always right for her. got a pair of pumps from next once and it took her little toe nail off!

dd-darling/dear daughter.

Next shoes are a really slim fit.

You could also try continental shoes like ecco.

Dd only really fits clarks boots so we are finding it hard for summer shoes.

startrite? is there anywhere online that you can send the measurements to?

MayorNaze · 26/03/2009 12:44

i sympathise, md sister has DS - went sandal shopping with her last summer - aaaggggghhhh! she is one size to small for evans otherwise she would be sorted.

thisnk she ended up with camping style sandals - theres a thought - how about an outdoor pursuity type of shop?

silverfrog · 26/03/2009 14:20

what about these?

or similar types - they fasten with velcro, so should go quite wide. obv only good for the summer though...

I know you all need proper shoes, but DD uses shoo shoos, she is 8 and fits into 18-24 month size. We can't find any shoes that fit her feet as they are wide and fat and short
So she wears SN orthotic ones and these soft shoes.

Sorry for adding my non useful info, no help to you.

robeez do similar shoes, and go up to age 4 (size 9-10 kids, they reckon)

dd1 used to wear them around the house a lot, and they are ok outside, but not brlliant in harsher weathers...

My (NT) DS has very very wide and high feet, and we get his shoes from indpendant shoe shops that stock european brands - Ricosta do a great wide fit (I think it would be a J), and he's had Ecco, Elephanten, Baby Oop and currently a portugese brand.

I know great shops in W Sussex, Oxfordshire and Rugby that have all fitted DS happily when Clarks miserably failed
