I was looking at joing a gym at local couyncil run pool as am on a mission to lose weight. And when talked to them they made it clear they would not take ds he has GDD,SLI hypermoblity and hypertonia, and asd traits
Did exlain that hes not agressive is very passive and long as he can acces his bag would get himslef a drink, all they would mainly ned to remember that they need to view him as nearer to than the 4 he is and if there was any major issues i am on premises anyway, can they refuse him place or does it bcome under discrimsntion

What sh*ts!
As fio says i'm sure you wouldn't want to leave him with then m=now anyway but I am pretty sure the dda prevents them refusing to take him on grounds of his disability.. A strongly worded letter to the local council may see some free swimming vouchers heading your way
Also is the chreche ofted approved, if so ofsted would be very unhappy to hear of such discrimination.

OMG - I can't believe this ... and it's run by a local council Surely they have to accept him under the "every child matters - inclusion' thingy ma bob.

You'll find it's because they do not have a high enough ratio of trained staff per child - all down to finances. That is complete bull.
