Just a quick Q. about tax credits etc

Am due DC3 very shortly. DS1 gets DLA middle rate carers, I get CA as I had to substantially reduce my hours at work to take him to hospital appts etc (dropped hours from 27 to 8).

When I dropped hours at work, tax credits went up from £48 a month to £172 a month.

Now, I am trying to work out what I'm going to do when DC3 is born. I don't see how I can possibly work anymore, DC2 is in reception and has loads of things for parents on, DC1 and his appts, new baby etc etc. Have looked at tax credits estimate and they reckon my tax credits will go up to over £300 a month - I know they go up a bit because of new baby element, but DH earns £30k, so does this seem right?

Basically;
DH on £30k
Me not working - but in receipt of CA
DS1 middle rate carers DLA
DC2 aged 5
DC3 newborn
Anyone in a similar circumstance to me?

If this is right then I won't worry about carrying on with work after the baby is born and this would be a huge weight lifted!

I dont know about DLA etc as we dont currenly recieve it.

However I am on SMP and my DH is on £15k and we get just over £400 a month in Tax credits for three DC's (including a baby)

We only get £80 per month
DD Higher rate DLA
DS1 2
DS2 under 1
DH works,I am SAHM

that's less than the basic family element with new baby addition though Mitchell, your household income must be higher than the threshold. From what I understand, if earnings are substantial then the child disability element is wiped out.

go on entitled to website and see if you can work it out from there, entitledto.co.uk or something, if you google entitled to you should get it x

I wouldnt use entitled to as a firm guide though, I have used it befre and it never comes out like it should, its good for a rough guide, but not as gospel!

I think its because DH is near the salary limit.

According to entitled to, you would get about £76 per week once baby is born, so that is £304 every 4 weeks, or £329.33.

Do you qualify for Maternity Allowance, by the way? If you do, it affects your Carer's allowance, but only by the amount of MA you receive, and MA isn't counted as income for Tax Credits purposes.
