Dd2 hasn't been herself for a few days and now seems to be extra sensitive to clothes, so far this morning i have changed her top 5 times, she is now wearing the first one she had on .
She seems very un-happy (crying, moaning), i can't seem to do anything rite, even the TV doesn't make her happy , she's not eating as much as she usually eats (but is eating). She wants mummy to cuddle her but cry's when i do, i wish she could tell me whats wrong .

I feel so frustrated (she must feel this too).

I am taking her to the doctors at 11.30 but i havn't got a clue what i'm going to tell them, she has no temp, no sickness and no obvious symptoms.

Is she ill or is it just a sensory thing?

She's 3 on sunday.

She had some calpol this morning but still really grumpy.

She has had a cough for a while but nothing too bad. Its not like her to be off her food, she hasn't eaten much for 3 days now.

Agrre with FIO. DS1 is like this when he's coming down with something. In fact so am I.

See if Calpol makes any difference. At least then you'll know if it's something physical.

She's eating a piece of apple now . She seems ok one minute and then grumpy as hell the next. Last time she was like this she had a throat and ear infection, she doesn't seem to be holding her ears but has had this cough. It took me 3 hours to get her to sleep last night but again apart from being grumpy there were no other symptoms.

FioFio- i will check her teeth, she does keep rubbing my cheek but sometimes she does this to say she is tired, she did have a tooth come through a few weeks ago which made her a bit grumpy.

I cant see any teeth coming through but its hard to see.

Hi

Poor you. It is so hard when you can do no right! DS is also always like this when he is tired or about to come down with something.

I usually make a little bed on the sofa for him to watch tv but he is 6 so a little more able to say what he does and doesn' like!

Hope all goes well with the GP

5inthebed · 11/03/2009 10:15

Poor DD. Does sound like she might be coming down with something. Ds2 is like this when he is poorly, usually does a lot more handflapping and squealing as well.

I hope the trip to the doctors helps.

Marne · 11/03/2009 12:32

Back from the doctors, still couldn't find a lot wrong with her, the gp has given her some anti-biotics just in case , as she has had a cough for a while. I managed to get her to sleep in the car on the way home, dd1 has a birthday party after school and i have to drag dd2 along with me so now she has had a nap she might be a bit easier to manage.

He did listen to her chest and said it didn't sound to bad, he said she mite have a throat infection but he didn't want to upset (wrestle with) her. Her cough does sound painful so maybe she has got a soar throat.

Now were home the clothes are off again and i'm struggling to keep her warm.

Mmmmm just an idea... but does she suffer from any allergies? I know people are starting to get hayfever now and allergies don't always come in the form of sneezes and sniffles. If she's ratty, coughing and her skin is very sensitive could she be sensitive to something?

Just an idea, but if you're really worried, and she's not sleeping well, then perhaps some piriton mught be an idea??

Possibly, she seems to be rubbing her skin a lot but only has one red looking spot which looks like ecssma(sp).

She's also constipated, i'm trying to give her some fruit but she keeps asking for bananas which will only bung her up more.

Has she had chicken pox? Does that give a temperature?

Marne · 11/03/2009 13:50

One of the LO's at her playgroup has just come down with chicken pox so its a possibility.

If I were you I'd keep an eye out for more spots.... good luck!

BriocheDoree · 11/03/2009 14:53

DD always like this a few days before coming down with something - quite often 3 or 4 days before obvious symptoms of sickness appear. Could well be chickenpox. If she wakes up tomorrow covered in spots, you'll know why!!
Hope she picks up soon.

How're things Marne??

Marne · 12/03/2009 13:09

She's still not eating a lot but seems ok, we went to a birthday party after school yesterday and she was fine and she went to play-group today and hit her head on the door on the way out so she's grumpy again .
