Dd2 interacting with the dog

Just wanted to share

Dd2(ASD) doesn't really interact a lot with anyone, today i found her led on the sofa with the dog and she was blowing in the dogs ear which made the dog give her a kiss/lick, Dd2 was laughing as she realized she could get the dogs attention (and a response) by blowing in her ear.

She seems to get on better with the dog than her sister, sometimes i think they are on the same wave length .

Fantastic.

That sounds great - if I had a bigger house I'd definitely get a dog for DS. Or a cat, given Amber's theory about ASD and cats - but then again they'd probably just end up ignoring each other

I think pets are great especially for kids with additional needs. Mu daughter ignores the cats but loves the hens and has a big chat every day after school!

Thats lovely Marne.

I read a really interesting article in Take A Break magazine about a little boy with autism who flourished when his parents bought him a dog. Makes you wonder about the healing powers of animals.

Thank you all

One of the reasons we got a dog was for dd2. They seem to understand each other, i'm sure the dog has ASD .
