He has not sat still since he came home from school on Friday. I KNOW he's bored, but ds2 isn't very well and we can't go on our normal 5 mile hike round the parks. He's touching EVERYTHING, jogging on the spot as he speaks to me, moving objects from where they should be to wqhre they shouldn't be (and it's no use to tell him to put them back, he can never remember where they came from), going up and down the stairs and poking around in my bedroom and the bathroom - he just needs constant supervision and I have a 2 year old as well, and it's so HARD being at home with him.

ANd I hate myself for not making the best of the time he's off school but I have to say his name 20 times before he'll even look at me, and (this sounds ridiculous) he has NO interest in what I'm saying, ever. I have to literally hold him still to tell him stuff. Or shout.

coldtits you need a nice cup of tea and some time to yourself!..... have you got anyone who could pop around and play/ occupy him for half an hour or so?.....one of my tribe is very hard work( lovely as he is he's exhausting), ive got a trampoline in my sitting room(dont ask- long story)and he bounces on it all day..... funny looks i get from visitors, but who cares?greater good and all that! .

Have sat him in his bilibo. I think these should be a mandatory issue for all hyperactive children. They can be in one place and not banging/rattling, but still get to use their muscles etc

eh dumb question-, whats a billibo????? .

Coldtits · 08/03/2009 11:00

It's a piece of plastic shaped like a semicircle

They seem such a silly idea, you'd assume they'd end up at the bottom of the toybox, whereas actually my children play with theirs daily!

Sorry your ds1 is being a bit of a handful. Is it too early for wine?

The bilibo looks great! I think I'll have to get one for ds2 as well, he has been on top form this weekend.
