or could it just be part of the sensory probs? or is that just me in denial?

Teachers reporting absences then yesterday had absences with shaking of arms 3x in a few minutes. He has congenital brain disorder and unusual brain physiology, was told might be more at risk of epilepsy but feeling rather upset. He has enough to cope with and really do not want to have to medicate.

Already contacted his neurosurgeon for an appt. Expect we'll get sent for eeg but I wouldn't expect these to have a normal trace anyway due to his underlying condition but I guess they can tell something.

Strange how I can cope fine with lifesaving neurosurgery but it's the stuff on top of that I find hard to take. Stuff that will affect his learning and quality of life.

Just thought i would let yoy know my DS with SPD and Ds also has non epileptic fits. He seems to just stare and sometimes one side shakes. His EEG was inconclusive due to his tactile defensiveness not allowing the nurses to put the electrodes on his head. I think we managed 3. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your responses. He has been fine since, keeping a close eye on him, while trying not to freak him out! Interesting to know there are fits that are not considered epilepsy. Will get him checked and wait and see.
