Only thing now is I have got such a fight on my hands it's unreal!!!

I cried when they told me as been waiting for a few weeks as she had a 3 day assessment there. Mixture of emotions really, relieved as I know it is the right place but sad as I know the LEA are going to fight me all the way and I don't know how much fight I've got in me...

I know she will be happy there. She absolutely loved it when she did her 3 days.

it's a good start, and glad DD is so positive about it, best wishes for the inevitable funding battle.

for your news.
for the fight!
Go bully the LEA. Sending positive vibes and virtual cup of tea / slice of cake your way.

Great that she's been accepted a step forward, I just hope it's not going to be too much of a battle for you.

bullet123 · 25/02/2009 09:33

Very pleased she's been accepted. Hope the LEA agree it's the best place for her.

flyingmum · 25/02/2009 17:19

Well done. The fight will be worth it. Is it the school which I know well or the one which has elements of your name in it?

PheasantPlucker · 25/02/2009 18:26

If it is the school I am thinking of (from a previous post of yours) it is quite local to me, as has an excellent reputatation. God luck and well done. (If this is not the school at all, please ignore me!)

Blossomhill · 25/02/2009 21:19

hi it's the one similar to my name Lots of people are saying to me it is sad that she will not have mainstream exposure and it really irritates me to say the least!

Thank you for all of your lovely comments. I am preparing for battle and have dd's transition meeting in a week. I have conacted SOSSEN but there number is out of order so will have to sort it out next week (off to euro disney for 2 days )

Yes I'm on FB. I think I remember your RL name so will have a look for you.

Mine all seem to be doing okay for now

I'm feeling old though because I still remember your dd as being a future purple-haired author of about 6! Secondary school age now?

Blossomhill · 28/02/2009 10:55

Hi Im new and this is my first message. Good luck with the LA fight. I myself am in the same situation, my son has been given a place at a specialist school, after his assessment 27/02/09, now I have to fight to get th LA to agree with it.

alkiezrus · 05/03/2009 17:39

Hi another new one here too.

We have got to fight to get our son into a specialist independant school too. He has been offered a place, but the LEA will fight us all the way.

My 10 year old daughter with GDD was taught 'f**k off' by some of her delightful mainstream role models this week and is now using it constantly!

Eg ' ooh Cassie (cat) is on my bed, f* off'!!

We are almost 2 years into a fight with our LEA to get them to agree to place her at a non-maintained special school. It is the very expensive transport costs that they want to avoid.
