My youngest has dyspraxia and i also think he is dyslexic.
At his parent consultation last night the teacher agreed with me that he may be dyslexic.
They are going to give him an IEP which will be some help hopefully. SALT are coming in to see him at some point but none of that is going to overly help him if he is dyslexic.
Because he is only in reception, school are saying that an IEP is all they can do.
Having worked in a school as an LSA, i know that unless your child is statemented, they don't get much help.
The teacher told me he is a bright little boy and has great ideas in literacy and can do number sentences and adding in numeracy but he can't write anything down due to motor skills problems and maybe dyslexia?
Am I wanting too much?
I just don't want my little boy to fall behind in class or lose interest because he can't do it.
Does any one else have a child like mine that was successful in being statemented?
