Had SUCH a positive meeting today with a new SALT

Took DD to see a new SALT today because her current one is going to be going back to UK some time next year. On paper, all sorts of positives: SALT is bilingual French/English and trained in France and in Canada. She's also covered by Social Security which current one isn't. For us, bilingual SALT is like the holy grail of SALTS, IYSWIM.
Anyway, for ages I've been muttering to paed and neuropaed about how DD has sensory issues and they always gloss over this, and within five minutes of meeting her SALT observes that she's obviously hyposensitive and has problems with her vestibular system and gives me exercises to do with her to help her proprioperception. She's going to give auditory exercises to DD's current SALT (who's great, DD has made HUGE progress with her, but she's not so hot on the sensory stuff). She noted that DD's echolalia changes from French to English when talking speaking to me or to her and described it as "the start of bilingualism" i.e. sees NO problem in DD being bilingual.
SO, she's going to take DD on next year when current SALT leaves.
Feel so happy, so relieved. Just feel like another piece has slotted into place! You know that good feeling you get when you have confidence in the people who are going to be working with your DC (which isn't always the case, let's face it)!

That's great to get a therapist who is so on the ball and you can have confidence in.
