Car seat help please!

My dd is rapidly outgrowing her Class 0 car seat and we need to move to the next size up. The problem is she still has minimal head control, so a standard car seat isn't going to be any good. Our physio has recommended the Recaro seat (adapted for SN) - however it's £600+ . Before I panic and re-mortgage the house does anyone have any other recommendations please? Is the Britax SN car seat good?

Thanks for that Chonky - perhaps I ought to have a little look on Ebay myself.

I'm sure you're not weedy - I should have muscles like Arnie Schwarzenegger

At hydro today, we sang Humpty Dumpty and we had to sit our children on the side of the pool (i.e the wall), well some people would pay for that upper body workout!!

Unfortunately, I've got more fat that muscle

Just reapplied to the FF and asked for SN carseats too,

Merlot, I reckon I'm going to end up with ripped arms and then a good covering of flab everywhere else. Attractive

Good luck with the FF application sparklymieow

My daughter who has just turned 4 has been assessed for a recaro by the social work OT, who are going to purchase the seat for her. We are in Scotland, but it might be the same system elsewhere in the UK.

Only last week someone was selling a recaro on ebay, so its always worth checking.

The good thing about the recaro, is that it swivels around, so that you can place the child straight into the chair, whilst taking care of your back

We went to the In Car Safety Centre on Saturday -the lady who fitted dd's car seat was brilliant.
We've ended up with a Britax seat modified for the Scandi market, apparently in Scandinavia all of their car seats are rear facing (by law) until age 3. The seat was a bargain £150, not cheap but a positive snip compared to the alternatives.
Thanks for recommending the ICSC Lou, they were well worth the journey.

Great news

It was a woman who fitted ours as well, probably the same one.

Glad your trip was worthwhile Chonky We were handed a leaflet about the Milton Keynes centre by ds2's Physio last Friday. Sounds like it is definitely worth a visit
