What a gorgeous bunch you've got Lou! Your DS looks so proud of himself walking with his frame.

My dd loves walking with hers now, although it took a while to get her used to it! She whizzes round nursery bashing everyone's legs and has even played outside on our cul-de-sac with the other little children who live near us over the Easter holidays. It was so nice for her to be able to joinin rather than having to watch through the window....until she hit the kerb and toppled over!

thanks MandM. He has a wheelchair to get about, he really isnt up to par with the frame yet, he finds it too challenging atm, so he can only do about 6ft, but he is VERY proud of himslef when he manages to get his feet in the right place

very emotional

He is a cutie. I seem to have a very bad weakness for kids in glasses - they all look so huggable

lou33 · 07/04/2005 11:44

he is REALLY huggable

Lou

How old is your ds? When did he first get his wheelchair? DD is 3 (4 next Tuesday - so I'm going to be spending my weekend constructing a Barbie princess out of madiera sponge and fondant icing!!!) and is going to school in September so we are coming up to the point where I think she is going to have to have a wheelchair for getting in and out of school. I'm nervous, and I don't really know why, but don't want her to pick up on that. DH is (surprisingly) much calmer than me about it. I think it might be because I can see her doing so well and being so independent with her frame and a wheelchair feels like going in completely in the opposite direction, although deepdown I know they both have their place IFKWIM.
Sorry for all the questions - it's just that for me this is the biggest hurdle so far.

misdee · 07/04/2005 11:51

aww he is sooo cute, as are all your kids. are you and your dh also very fair? Your girls remind me of my friends dd's, who are also very blond (do you know what i mean, there is blond, and there very blond)

lou33 · 07/04/2005 11:53

he was 4 in feb, he got his chair last summer when he was 3.5. Have you got an ot or a physio? I would get them to refer you to wheelchair services, you are right to try and sort it all before school starts.
