Someone in DS nursery has contracted Hep A and we have all been advised to get our nursery children vaccinated. The thing is I dont like making rush decisions and I know nothing about this vaccine- side effects etc. Over vaccinating may have contributed to DS problems in the first place. Does anyone know about this vaccine how safe it is and what side effects may occur or point me to a non government/NHS site that will give unbiased information. I also know very little about Hep A.

From the World Health Organisation:-

I would seriously consider beign vaccinated against Hep A as it is highly infectious.

I would talk to the GP about the situation at nursery and go by their advice re the issue of vaccinating your partner and yourself.

We have booked an appointment for Ds to have this injection but Im really worried about DS going through it. He hates doctors as it is and this will be his first experience in the new surgery so getting him back to the doctors after that will be awful. He has very little understanding so I cant oreoare him or explain, is there anything I can do to make it less stressful for him?
