Little mini rant...bad day and no-one else to moan at!

DD suddenly having lots more meltdowns. No idea why. Also wetting herself a lot (the two usually go together).
Took them both to the toy library this afternoon and got funny looks because DD only wanted to play in baby room and not in age-appropriate room, then wet herself, then went into meltdown when I told her we had to go straight home because I'd forgotten spare clothes. Cue 'cat's bum faces' from all the other mothers there. Then DS throws tantrum because he doesn't want to go home either, and I'm trying to physically bundle them both out of the door. Feel like I'm constantly taking DD to assessments but no-one is actually helping me day-to-day with managing her! She's got another party invite on Saturday, which is great, but I'm going to have to spend another Saturday afternoon looking like overprotective parent and not leave her alone, or start telling everyone that she's got SN and risk her being shunned by kids who currently seem to accept her for who she is (the eternal dilemma!).
OK, so compared to most of you this stuff is pretty minor, but I have to moan her because I have nowhere else to moan!
Wonder if she's coming down with something - she usually wets herself more when she's ill!

Poor you. I hate it when other parents give those horrbiel disapproving looks. As if they help when you're trying to calm down your child!!!

I'm sure there is a full moon due or something as ds2 has been the same. Lots of melt downs lately and I feel I cant cope. Doesnt help I'm only getting about 3 hours sleep at the moment with a 9 week old and a sleepless ds2.

I too wish there was someone around I ould get some support from for the day to day things, that would be like a weight lifted off my shoulders, I bet you feel the same as well.

Hope your DD isn'tcoming down with something and that she settles back down soon. We're always here for you to rant at x

'cats bum face' - so know what you mean. Ds1 has melt downs and I know that, as he's 6 and the tallest in his year, people are thinking he needs a severe telling off when I'm just trying to exit where ever as quickly as possible.

I always stay at parties and tell the parent before hand why - I assume they won't say anything to their children - I may be in denial about that though.

Ds1 wets himself when stressed too -last week I wondered if he'll be still coming out with his pants in a bag in secondary school.

The only thing I can ever think of to say is have a glass of wine tonight and I really do know how you feel.

"Cat's bum face" is borrowed from Eidsvold
