Finally got up the energy to remove forms from envelope and realise that they are now out of date. Should have been returned by the end of December. Do I need new ones or can I still just fill these ones in?

Any general advice for filling them in? Feel exhausted every time I look at the envelope tbh.

I am more eloquent when I type rather then handwrite can I do that and stick the typing to the form or does it have be hand written.

I feel bloody paralysed by these forms but I know I have to get on with it.

Thanks.

If you go onto their website you can download the form to your computer and type directly onto it. You then print it out sign it and post it.

Fleur

I get someone from the Citizens Advice Bureau to help me fill these out. Horrible forms and I nearly always have a cry at some point as well!

You dont even have to print it, I did it online and it can be submitted online. And it means you can go back and edit it, v good if you need to think a bit and then add bits. It was horrible and it might all be for nothing cos I forgot the docs appointment and the snotty woman I rang (who managed to make me cry last time) said they would consider whether or not I deserved another appointment as I had missed 2. I havent, I changed the 1st bnut apparently it counts. So be aware if a doc has to come and see you!

ohhhhh, has your current award actually expired? if you go past the date and your payments stop, you have to go through a new application process... this happened here (renewal was sent to old address) and we're stuck at the back of the new awards queue, which is about 15 weeks for processing i'm told...

christmas was great as we were already £1000 down on our budgeted income by that point...

No, have never been awarded it before. First time of applying. We have a diagnosis. Will that be helpful? I just started to fill it in on line and the computer froze so had to come out and haven't had the heart to go back and look again. New day tommorrow will look again then I think.

What sort of advice do they give at CAB in filling it in? Think I will make an appointment with them next week.

He has one to one at school so the bit where it says about needing more supervision than an average 5 year old is very relevant. He is either with me or a teacher. Never left alone to do stuff really. I usually go on school trips with him as well because of his needing more help.

Thanks would be grateful for any guidance.

You can also use a welfare rights officer/ local disability centre if you have one. In our area they have been very helpful.
