Hand and wrist weights - free to good home!

Hi. My DS (7) has ASD and has poor fine motor skills, especially with his writing.

His O/T recommended these weights to improve his things. He used to hold his wrists up (a bit like someone playing the piano incorrectly!)and his muscle tone was very low in his wrists.

There is a wrist cuff, looks like a tubular bandage but weighted, and a hand weight, looks a bit like a fingerless glove. These fitted him when he was around 5/6. We had to order them from America, and they did help.

They no longer fit him, and I'd be happy to pass them on if anyone wants them.

Hi, my son Zack is having increasing problems with his fine motor skills, and is beginning to fall behind at school as he is unable to write neatly, his tremor makes his hands shake, and he is unable to play board games such as chess.

My Son and I would very much appreciate the offer for these weights, else could you please forward me the link to the American website wich provides them? We have searched for some time to find suitable in the UK.

Many thanks, Michelle

hi tipsycat. Very kind of you to pass them on. Could you please tell me where you ordered these from? I would be interested in getting some for DS.
Thank you.

I'm sorry Tinysocks, I can't remember the website, it was recommended by our OT, but she left a good while ago!! How old is your child? If i have a good dig around I might be able to find the original set we had, which he outgrew at around age 5 (i think). Will look this evening.

Thanks tipsycat, DS just turned 4. I will ask my OT on friday if she knows about these.
DS's fine motor skills are very poor indeed, so I'm always on the lookout of things that might help him.
