Argh. Echolalia headache. Tempted to get her out of bed and let her come and watch TV just to stop her sitting there screaming "TTTTTTTHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMAAAAASSSSSSSS" but I'm sure that she'll want to watch engines and that will just make it worse. I love her to bits but I think I need a break .

Blimey, she's just stopped. Do you think she's picked up the Mumsnet vibes.

Time for a large glass of wine . So glad it's the holidays. No more headshrinking for DD for at least three weeks!

Merry Christmas to you all!

Joining you with a glass (of Becks) .

many sympathies, the telly talk echolalia is grueling to listen to.

DS2 has got so much more demanding since he broke his leg. It's not echolalia, just constant, grinding repetition
Toast toast toast toast toast
Ro and Jim Ro and Jim Ro and JIm
Rewind rewind rewind rewind rewind rewind rewind
Computer computer computer computer

And then just when I'm in the middle of scurrying around like some kind of mad octopus trying to fulfil his every whim, I get

Sit sit sit sit sit sit sit sit sit sit sit sit

So can I join you in an AAAAAAArrrrrrrrrggggggggghhhh?

TotalChaos · 19/12/2008 20:39

Oh yes sphil, we have been confined to barracks as well as DS has managed to get measles so I am getting a lot of tyrannical requests. how is he doing with his leg?

btw is he a rosie and jim fan too?

RaggedRobin · 19/12/2008 21:29

i was actually enjoying ds's repetition tonight. he was doing a little scene from charlie brown's christmas dvd where he wraps up a little christmas tree, hangs a bauble on it and then we all sing "hark the herald angels sing" (or ds's phonetically aproximate version). at the end of the song, he started again, and again and again.... but it was so sweet that i enjoyed it every time

Oh TC - measles? What a pain! Yes, DS2 is a huge Rosie and Jim fan, but only with John . Neil will NOT DO.

He is coping pretty well, but getting more fed up as the days go by. No exercise is a big deal - at the beginning it seemed to focus his brain on speech, which was great, but now it's making him more jumpy, moody and stimmy. Sleep has gone to pot too. I'm just praying that he'll only have to be in plaster for 4 weeks - though a physio neighbour of ours told me last night that she was surprised he wasn't put in traction .
