we have
we have a track in the lounge, bathroom and dd's room. they are a bugger to be put in but much better than mobile hoists...
mobile hoists are a bit dangerous with a person who has extra movements!!!
what do you need to know??

needmorecoffee · 15/12/2008 13:20

how much fuss and bother and hairy arsed workmen to put one in?
I really don't want a giant mobile hoist!

ours were paid for by the HA
on;t took about a morning to put one in.

Your ceiling joists need to be strong enough to hold them

needmorecoffee · 15/12/2008 18:16

social services will pay for it but the OT is blardy useless. Its taken her 6 months to 'check the cupboard for a shower seat'. Each time I call she says she forgot.
How does one discover if the ceiling hoists are ok? They hold up the floor above....

dh says all joist are normaly a standard size(how old is your house?) so are all strong enough.
with the ot. tell that if they don't put the hoists in and you hurt your back you will sue....worked for me.

needmorecoffee · 15/12/2008 18:59

its over 100 years.
I'm going to call the SW and see if she will talk to the OT.

dh says check the joist then.
