There was a study which showed good results for eye q liquid but I found it really hard to get my children to take it.

I give them a fish oil capsule now but I'm a bit hit and miss at remembering.

"...but I'm a bit hit and miss at remembering..."

bit ironic!

i tried the boots own with DS1 (adhd) but i didnt really see any difference.

maybe I should go and get myself some!!

I've been giving DS his Eye Q mixed into his morning Ready Brek every day for the last two years! As far as I know the research has shown that it has a positive effect on children with SN but not so much for "normal" children. As to whether or not it works - I don't know. When we first started giving it to him it seemed to make a big difference, but now I wonder if we were imagining it. Still, DS is mostly a happy boy who is doing better than I'd dared hope, and I don't want to change anything while it's all going so well!

thanx everyone ,think we will stick too the eye q and see how ds3 and dd4 does!heck if it works , i might start mixing it into dh food too, see if it improves his behavior too lol

We tried the EyeQ liquid, and although loads of people had success we didn't really see a big difference. dd1 hated taking it too.

Also try & 'Eskimo Kids' Omega 3,6&9. Tesco have just started selling it this week - it's purer than EyeQ (comes from deep sea fish?) and gets better reviews.

Also, I was reading an article on the British Homeopathic Association's website about a woman doctor who treats children with ADHD, eventually managing to withdraw them from their medication (not all of them, mind you). It's really worth a read or even a referral if you are a supporter of homeopathy. They are based in Great Ormand Street.

mummyofboys, they don't do this in capsule form do they? I can't see mine taking fish oil off a spoon.

mummyofboys · 09/12/2008 20:39

prettybutterfly unfortunately I don't think they do. You can mix it in their cereal, juice etc (I'm lucky my dc swigs it back in one .. YUK!)

Following website flogs it, but also gives you some info on it. As I said, available from Tesco priced £9.95.
