My daughter has SLD with lots of speech and communication difficulties. I wrote a 'strongly worded' entry in the diary when IMO I read about her swimming lesson and felt it had been poorly dealt with.

The Headteacher wrote a very angry letter in response and has said they are trying to decide if we will have a diary from now on.

Does anyone know if they have to provide one?

Any advice would be really appreciated.

The Head Teacher claimed the comments I wrote reduced 2 TAs to tears!! (which seems very unlikely) but I was very angry about how my daughter had been excluded from a lesson for being scared and upset. The same thing had happened before and I had thenexplained how they should deal with it

Disgraceful.What a way to support a parent.
Maybe she acted rashly,if I were you I would write a heartfelt letter to the head along the lines of diaries are supposed to contain the rough with the smooth-both ways, certainly not threats. How awful.Typical professional who has no personal experience.

In my opinion the headteacher needs to realise that you are an adult and should not be treated as though you were one of her pupils.
