sure sta5rt or homestart trace?

surestart differs regionaly but extra support, grous etc

homestart are a bit different (used to work for them), they try to place a trained volunteer in your home to suppport you once a week. can be a wnderful thng, somene to talk to, etc etc.

i'd go for it if I could now.

Trace

the idea is that they support you. They won't do your housework sadly (or I would have one like a shot LOL), but othetr than that- go out with yu, swimming, chat, mother ad toddler, appointments- wahtewver you both decide would work best for the two of yu really. It's a lng term thing too, unless you don't need it any mroe (whioch knowing your story is unlikely) you'd probably have her until your youngestr eacherd 5, or until the volunteer ceased volnteering (in which case yu'd be up fr a new match)

I will point out that diferent schemes (mine was Sedgemoor) operate in slightly different ways thopugh they all have a central procedure to adhere to.

At urs you'd get a initial visit, then we'd look for a match. wen one came about (and its someone to match you, not just first on the list) we'd introduce, review a week later, then review after 2 months, then every 6 months unless we felt there was a greater need; we'd also (as managers) keep i touch by phone, and by various events such as Chriostmas parties and we ran a family group too with a playleader so we could focus on parents.

Charlotte may be able to tell you how her scheme varied from that?

Hiya
I work for Bedford and yep Peachy, that's exactly what we do!! Not quite sure how I fit that all into 20 hours a week but that's it n a nutshell. My families vary from those needing emotional support (someone to talk to), to a family who need more hands on practical support such as helping establish routines or motivation to do chores, or take the children to the park etc.
