I've put this in beh/dev as well but thought I'd get a response in this topic area as well. Thank you

my dd 13 months moves around sitting but falls backwards and can't save herself. Is there a type of helmet she could wear to protect her head? I follow her about or carry her but know she'd like to venture off without me right behind her.

She's going to have physio to help her be able to sit up by herself - so I'm hoping this wll help her turn sideways when she begins to fall backwards iyswim.

Try this link:

www.rehabmart.com/category/Special_Needs_Protective_Childrens_Helmets.htm

It's i the Us and they sell them for toddlers etc called 'Thumper Bumpers' - just to give you an idea. However, you could probably get thru physio.

Good luck

Physio should supply this to you on NHS. I will try to wrack my pre-maternity leave brain for some manufacturers, if you want to buy one.
We often tell patients to buy a rugby scrum type helmet, or martial arts equipment suppliers for the very padded ones, but your LO is a bit too small yet!

Has she been diagnosed as being hypotonic and/or having plagiocephaly?

Fledglings here had some really nice non-medical ones recently, going very cheap (£10)and they only had small sizes.
