Any tips for learning Makaton sign language

I hope you don't mind me posting here. My DTDs are learning to sign numbers and letters (primarily) for a sponsored sign language challenge.

They have been shown the alphabet once and then have a sheet of paper with pictures on. We have most of them...but there are a couple which I am not sure what they "depict" or how to help them to remember them.

They are
K - picture isn't clear. Is it supposed to depict the K with a straight back on teh lefthnd and a knuckle making the K shape with the other?

R - I think this looks like C but laying onteh bottom half of the palm. Is this correct? Is there an easy way to remember this? I have been finding objects start with each initial letter (e.g. binoculars, fishes, girraffes neck). Is there an easy way to remember R that any of you have found?

Also the number 6-9 are confising me a little. Are they all done on the right hand with the palm facing the "audience"?

Are there any good sites with better illustrations than I might have? Perhaps a video of the actions?

Grateful for any help you can give - and hope you don't mind me posting on this subject.

incidentally, as far as im aware it doesnt matter if you use left hand or right hand for the 'paper' so long as you always use the same one.

PS use one hand as a 'pointer' and one as a 'paper'

TY - that site is much much clearer than the sheet they have...I will get them to watch some of the videos too.

I didn't know there were different branches of sign language.

TY for the tip about teh pointer and paper. DTD2 is struggling as she is left handed and naturally wants to point with the other hand. Problem is that the sponsored thing is to do some sort of "chinese whispers" style message along the line and I think she needs to be consistent with the other children.
