Eurax lotion?

Romy7 · 27/10/2008 14:23

i've got eurax hc... is that the same? - it says don't use on children under 10...? not sure what happens if you put hc on chicken pox spots...?
slightly complicated by the fact that if i haven't got it in the house i'm stuffed as the galaxy is in the garage and they gave me a ford ka for 3 kids and a wc...
gp said oats in the bath might work...
that's complicated by the fact that the water is shut off today for some deeply technical area pipe problem until 5 pm...
we've been working on diversion... or rather i have...
it also seems to have kicked off more unintentional movements, which i assume is par for the course?

Eurax lotion is ok for kids over 3, very good and lasts for 10 hours, have you got a friend who could get you some. Probably not good to put the hydrocortisone one on the spots.
Oats in the bath should be soothing but may not last long. Calamine lotion if you have it?

Romy7 · 27/10/2008 16:00

got calamine - she squeals when it goes on and it kicks off a lot of jerks (think it's prob cold lol) but we're persevering... have managed to get someone to come over tonight after work, so will dash to sainsbos and get some lotion (dh also away...)
thanks - thought the hc might be a bit much!

When DD had it I found sudocrem really good and baking soda in the bath...

Romy7 · 27/10/2008 22:44

thanks bd - using sudocreme on all the tricky spots - which are of course the ones that are making her cry the most. spots in places i didn't know she had places, and as chief nappy changer that says a lot! but it's so thick i'm loathe to slather her in it... it may come to that though.
how much baking soda? a couple of teaspoons? she might tolerate that - she's definitely not keen on the oats idea...
i've got some eurax lotion now, so hopefully that will soother her a bit in the morning.

Aqueous cream with calamine is brilliant. Got it at our local pharmacy as we found calamine on it's own dried the spots out and made them more itchy. Also, ditto to the baking soda in the bath. Used tons of the stuff.
