We applied for transport because Ds's nursery is not near to us. But were rejected because we are too near- I thought we were over 3 miles away. Can anyone tell me how I can find out the exact distance between us and the nursery? It would take 40 mins on the bus to get there (not including waiting time for the bus) he is only there 2.5 hours, so there would be no point in me going home because by the time I'd reached home I'd have to be getting ready to leave again.

Writing to the MP is often worthwhile. So sorry to hear that you got nowhere using the reasonable approach.

Well after talking to the other parents it seems like the reason they have given is bolleux. Noone in the afternoon session has transport and we have all been given different reasons. It seems they dont want the expense of another bus run in the afternoon.

Definitely worth contacting the MP then.

Here's a sneaky tip: You can ask for all the paperwork for your child from them, and they have to give you a copy. If they refuse, ask for a "Data Subject Access Request". They have 40 days to get the info to you, but might ask for up to £10 to cover the costs. Might give you some clues whether they've done the right thing or not.
