reminisent of Bruce Forsyths generation game....i will now try to recite everything DS3 has had to take to school this week....

Jar/Vase............. to grow hyacinth bulb

50p .................contribution to said hyacinth bulb

pillow.......... (sure he misunderstood this one as he took his bed pillow- would not listen to my protests...came home without it...then difficulty sleeping cos the replacement pillow i found didn't smell like his own pillow.)

tin of pineapple & Apron .....for cooking pizzas

"shaggy shirt" ...... (his words...not mine) because "we're doing about jesus and thats what they wore then...shaggy shirts" - then gesturing slleves that were baggy and too long...so me thinks he meant 'baggy shirt'!!!

football kit .......for after school club

Water Survey Pack....he brought it home last week...and all this week we are supposed to be ticking a chart to indicate everytime we flush the loo...fill the kettle...wash our hands...have a bath...etc....etc..... AND JOY OF JOYS ... tonight we are supposed to be using that chart to draw a "bar chart" to illustrate our water usage!!! (the loo is winning at the moment!!!)

AND ofcourse....as far as DS3 is concerned... ALL items had to be taken in IMMEDIATELY...and so far this week have found that the hyacinth stuff was for 2 weeks time!!! (no doubt the 'shaggy shirt' is for christmas nativity!!!!!)

so .... all this PLUS organising other 2 DCs with secondary school homework....3 PE sessions...and yesterday...my Incapacity benefit examination!!!

as far as DS3 goes.... i'm hoping that his teacher will realise this week (with the fact that he has insisted on taking his 'bed pillow'..and practically everything but the kitchen sink (as we need that for our water survey)...that she needs to HELP DS3 prioritise what HAS to be taken in NOW...and make sure he fully understands!!!
(So far she's been brilliant...lots of messages to me in his link book...but as always...we have to LET our kids demonstrate their difficulties... before people really understand!

I'm ROFLing away here.

I have visions of ds3 turning up at school with an outfit resembling Shaggy from Scooby Doo and half the contents of the house.

I hope the IB examination went okay.

MUM23ASD · 02/10/2008 09:45

thanks CT...just have to wait now about the IB...absolutely felt so drained after exam...and just hope they keep me on IB...as i have no enery for appealing.

"no energy " (WTF is ENERY?!!!)

tell you one thing though...if i'd realsised that i was attending THE DLA offices at Flowers Hill Bristol..... i would have taken all your complaints about DLA etc with me!!!!

Fancy putting such a grim place on such a 'lovely' sounding road!!!

How old is DS3?
I also have great image of him in some kind of shaggy bear outfit, you know, all hairy, carrying a hyacinth bulb, a pillow and his football kit!!

MUM23ASD · 02/10/2008 13:14

he's 9.

the best bit is he doesn't care how ridiculous his bag looks with all kinds of stuff jam packed in!!!

also... shall i warn his teacher that if she says yes to him 'bringing in some trains and track" that the last time he did that he took so much even i struggled putting the bag on his back.....

and yes.... i know as a parent we should put our foot down and be assertive and say "NO!!! You are not taking ALL your trains"

....but in my life i am learning to 'choose my battles'....and ds3's need to take everything we possess into school isn't worth ne getting in a tizz about!

BTW, this is the same child that kindly informed the person who handed out all the 'water survey packs'...some employee of the water board...that...

"My mum flushes baked beans and cereal down our toilet"

well???? it's not my fault that due to the council reducing doorstep collections...i've needed to dispose of rubbish in imaginative ways??? I mean... if it had been eaten it would have ended up in the loo anyway!!!

p.s...now you can see why the loo is winning the water survey!!!

If he's anything like mine I bet he tells you he has to take these things into school NOW just as you are about to go out the door!

I'd love to have seen the guys face when he told him you flush beans town the loo! (would have ended up in the loo anyway - sound reasoning IMO!)

coppertop · 02/10/2008 14:35

Rather worryingly I am now sitting here wondering whether the cereals would float or sink...

LOL at "Flowers Hill". I bet it was originally called something like Dog's Arse Road and they tried to make it sound a little more inviting.

Ds1 has a magic book bag. No matter what I put in it for him to hand in (letters, forms, money etc) it magically appears in his book bag at home time, almost as though he'd never handed it in...
