DS2 ate blueberries!

The nutritionist who gives us advice about DS2's diet, allergies etc has said that we can start slowly reintroducing foods that we removed because of eczema and bowel reactions, now that both his skin and his gut are so much better. I was keen to do so, but very sceptical that DS2 would allow this - he eats only familiar things in familiar colours and shapes - and he hasn't touched any of these foods for about two years.

Anyway, today he ate a blueberry - pushed it away the first time, but then put it in his mouth when I said ' First try this, then ice cream'. And then this evening I put a few in with his grapes and he ate the lot . This has made me ridiculously happy, and no-one in RL will understand .

Now we have to continue for 3-7 days and watch him like a hawk for any reaction.

Oh splendid!
IUf he does ice cream, could you also not make lots of differently flavoured ones?

Allergic to dairy and intolerant to soya, so can only do sorbet, and up to now, only mango sorbet! But as the first thing we're trying to reintroduce is berries, we've got a lot of scope. Good idea in fact - if he won't eat the fruit he will probably eat the sorbet!

We have blueberries growing in our garden - not that I'm boasting now... not fruiting all year unfortunately but we've got lots now

That's something I keep meaning to do - my friend grew them a couple of years ago and said they were really easy/low maintenance. Must get some plants, as blueberries are probably my biggest weekly expense!

We've got two plants but they're still at my parents' house! Must move them over here. Ds2 had huge nappy blowout tonight - hope it's not the blueberries. Don't think it's likely - he's only eaten about 6 - more likely to be a result of swimming, as he was very very anxious (and adrenalin has a knock-on effect on his bowels). Sorry - tmi
