I received an email from my son last night informing me that "I got a good news for you I can riding the bike with the 2 wheel now"
which is flippin amazing. Hes 12 and profoundly deaf and dyspraxic so has found it extremely hard to manage two wheels... I have been and bought a packet of Shrek plasters in readiness for the weekend!!!

Well done to your ds, how fast can you run? Will you eb able to keep up with him?

My friends husband reckons he wont need plasters he'll need bandages!!

Arnica is useful for bruises and fingerless gloves, thick kneed trousers, shin pads.....
I still think our son needs a red warning flag!

Thanks. have taken the bike to my friends garage to have the stabilisers removed. When i rang up to tell him his wife answered ( we are close friends) and when i told her we both ended up in tears!!

He's due home from school in the next hour after being away all week...... am dieing to see how he gets on on his bike... We have a lovely large grassy green 100 yards away so i can let him go on there!!

He has just ridden very carefully up the road and back for me and his godmother without falling off!!!!

My daughter 10 has stabilisers too and can't imagine her not at the moment.

VJG..Persistence is the key i think........His team leader worked with him constantly at school and he has had ocupational therapy weekly to help him with his balance. Bless him(my ds that is) he went and found his lovely OT Steve the next morning to say thanks to him for helping him, when i spoke to Steve later in the morning i could tell he was very very moved!
