if you google piedro you should hopefully find them. however, those may not be the specialist orthopaedic ones which are presumably what your lo needs. they are incredibly expensive.
do you know what size you need? my dd2 is just growing out of her size 20s - we should get her new pair from the hospital in a few weeks so would happily send you hers if they are any good.
in the meantime hassle your local dept - both my dds have had to have them and I have been like a dog with a bone (for the last 4 years now!!!). they're now eating out of my hands because I've kept on so much (and because they've made so many mistakes and I've written complaint letters

yes i mean thoses lol our physo as said we have to wait to be measured first which takes weeks then wait for them to be made, i have no idea of her size shes only tiny, i think shes in a size 2 for babys first size

the 20 would be too big then - it's the same as size 4.
we had a ridiculously long wait when dd1 was first referred so the physio advised us to go to an independent shoe shop (not Clarks etc) to get properly measured and get some sturdy lace up ankle boots. seem to remember we got Ricosta which cost about £40 but that's much less than the Piedros I think. Kickers are also good if they go small enough for your dd.

thank you i will look in to getting her some kickers shes trying to walk but shes got hyptonia so looks like mr soft when she walks, ( i hate thinking of her like that but she does) she as such dertination to do things

i know what you mean! dd2 has hypotonia too and tries so hard to do things - makes it more incredible when she succeeds! the boots really helped with her walking, altho took a while. apparently the boots give the ankles stability which in turn helps the legs and hips to stop wobbling so much.
i hope you're getting good advice from the physio in the meantime

Do you have to wait for an orthotics appointment?

Once you have been measured, it shouldn't take months - they don't have to be made, as such, but they may take a mould to make insoles specially for your dd. Have they talked about splints?

I honestly wouldn't think there is much point in shelling out for Piedro's unless you know the exact size and prescription she needs. They come in various therapeutic versions - with support tipping one way or the other - and in different stiffnesses.

i dont know we spoke to pysio on phone, we seeing on monday next week, she wanted us to knowshe wants dd to have them and was toldit takes ages we have been waiting for a corner seat for6 months now still not got it

mmm- that sounds bad. The problem is that these local community / PCT servoces are not subject to the targets - and funding - that hospitals get, so suport services such as orthotics DO tend to be horribly neglected.

Might it be worth posting about your local PCT / NHS area and see whether anyone else has any tips on how to get a quicker service?

south yorkshire dont know anyone else under them, our pead as asked me to talk to pepole whos babys have gatro tubes fitted as dd is having one fitted in oct and a fundo, but i dont know anyone

agree with blu that with my dds the boots have usually come 2 to 3 weeks after the actual appt to measure, occasionally though there are problems with stock at the warehouse

have you joined the special kids in the uk forum? i'm sure you would find people to chat with on there who are going through similar experiences to yours, esp re the feeding related issues

Bit late finding this thread, but companies REED MEDICAL (Blackburn, I think) and OSSUR UK (Manchester) TRULIFE (Sheffield) may be able to give you a private appointment with an orthotist (at a cost of course). Piedro Boots come in different widths and lasts to suit different measures and conditions so please don't order your own till measured by orthotist.
