Not sure if anyone is aware or if it is relevant for anyone else but you can get free nappies/pull ups from your HV.

My DD has global delayed development and is still in nappies. Like to wear pull ups in the day but wears them like nappies.

As she is now 3 and I get diability living allowance for her, my HV arranged for me to get free nappies for her. Got my first delivery last week (6 packets) which is going to make a bit of a difference to my shopping bill.

If anyone else's child is still in nappies at an older age, let them know they get free nappies.

Dingle

The patient Liasion Officer that I mentioned in my post on this thread a few days responded to my e-mail yesterday. She said that each health Authority has the right to put their own spin on the 'nappy' rules but that she feels an assessment should be offered in every case. She needed my permission to tackle on my behalf the HV and Continence Adviser who gave the 'no' decision, which I obviously gave (plus a few additional personal opinions about our HV - just for good measure!). She's going to take this further as she really seemed to agree with my arguments and is going to get back to me later this week. I will keep you posted as she might raise some points that would help you tackle this same situation.

4 here too... and dd has a very pricey easy-up pants habit which works out at around £10 per week - a quarter of her DLA ffs. At least she'll be 4 next month. You've reminded me that I need to ring my HV and sort it all out..
