School report yesterday, made me quite sad.

DD came home with her report yesterday.
I know it was written before her teacher and I ahd discussed the dyspraxia but when I mentioned it to the teacher she was 'oooh, yes' (think churchill from the insurance advert) as if she had known all along that she was dyspraxic and was onto it.
But this report basically says she's good at everything, but doesn't try hard enough with her writing, like it's her fault and easily fixable
Does make me wonder just how much effort went into writing this report, all the things she has pointed out as an issue aren't mentioned
To add to it they have to write a bit of their own to go in their reports and on DD's where it says things I need to try harder on she has written 'my writing as I'm not very good'

On the plus side (I think) DD's literacy teacher from this year is going to be here Class teacher next year so at least I know it won't affect her too much having a teacher who has no idea about her or her abilities during her assessments.

I know!
Thing is DD keeps asking to read her report.
I don't know if I should let her.

Why would she need to read her report? I just tell my kids (and the ones I teach) that it is called a 'report to parents' for a reason! I told my DD that I am very proud and pleased with her because she has worked really hard this year, and she can choose something special to do as a reward. Now I have to go 'girly shopping' with her - aagh!!

DP had already told her she could, but I've managed to put it off so far. She is really interested in reading it.
It has quite a few pages so I might just let her read the overview, it doesn't really mention anything in detail there.
