A boy doll (very much so, he is anatomically correct). I bought it from a US store thinking it would help DS1 (ASD) with toilet training. As luck would have it, DS1 made a huge breakthrough with toilet use while the doll was still in transit from the US. Would anyone else who is attempting to toilet train a developmentally delayed boy like to see if it is any use/help? It is still in the box so I cannot give any advice on its use but it got the best customer reviews of the all dolls that I researched.

If Mumo75 isn't interested, then I'd be, please Cyberseraphim. Does it (ahem) actually wee?

TinySocks · 06/07/2008 07:35

Oh darn, got to late to this message! Sphil, when you finish using it please keep me in mind, I'll be happy to adopt him after you.

cyberseraphim · 06/07/2008 08:04

That's my idea really - I don't want any money for the doll but would like him (assuming he is any good) to become a Mumsnet Mascot to be used then passed on. He does wee - from what I've read in the reviews. He is called hasbro baby alive wet and wiggles doll. You can google it for more info.

can i have him please as i am a foster mum and at the moment have 1 child im about to start to potty train and will have 1 in a few months too!!!

cyberseraphim · 06/07/2008 08:58

Is it for a special needs child ? I'm sorry to ask but sometimes these threads are seen by people outside of the SN Board. Also, would you be willing to post it on to the next person when you don't need it any more?

CaptainPlump · 06/07/2008 08:59

Too late! Oh well, I shall check out the link and maybe get one myself...

(If everybody else falls through keep me in mind!)

CaptainPlump · 06/07/2008 09:15

Cyberseraphim, I've just been trying to buy one of these dolls by following your link, but the company don't ship outside the US? Where did you get yours from?

Your post has come at a really good time. I'm not convinced that it's the right time to try and potty train DS but we'd decided to give it a go in a couple of weeks to see if we can make any progress before he starts school. This doll looks perfect!

cyberseraphim · 06/07/2008 09:17

Well I can help there - the company I found not only ships to the UK - they do it for free !

Will get back to you.

ps I was not convinced DS1 was ready either - but he was !

yes it icvs for a special needs child(downs) but if CaptainPlump wants it let her have it, as i dont know how long i will need it

thanks xx

cyberseraphim · 06/07/2008 19:53

You can order the doll from

www.aatoyshop.co.uk/servlet/StoreFront

or email Linda at

I'm not sure what to do with the little poppet now. I should have thought it through before posting. Maybe Wee Cyber can draw names out of a hat ! It would be nice to make a 'chain doll' that gets passed on but I can see that's hard to arrange as there is no time scale for training an SN child.

OP posts:
mumo75 · 06/07/2008 20:01

let someone else have it hunny

i dont mind

Jaine xx

CaptainPlump · 06/07/2008 21:04

Drawing names from a hat sounds like a good idea! If that's what you decide to do then count me in...

I'll make a note of that link, thank you!

sphil · 06/07/2008 22:32

Cyber - we would know pretty quickly whether it was going to work with DS2 or not, as he's quite definite about toys he does and does not like! It's quite possible that he'll refuse to look at it - in which case I would send it on to the next person straight away! But I think drawing out of hat is good idea, if the whole thing isn't too much hassle for you. I don't think any of us would mind if you decided it was all too complicated!

cyberseraphim · 07/07/2008 12:16

Will find a sun hat (not needed at the monment) and see if DS1 will take a bit of paper out of it - he will probably think they are sweets so might have to act quickly to find out who the winner is! What Sphil says is true - it might be no use at all so it's best that it moves on quickly if it's not needed.

OP posts:
cyberseraphim · 08/07/2008 12:30

The winner is Sphil !!

I will contact you to get your postal address. Good Luck !

TinySocks · 08/07/2008 14:11

Oh you lucky girl!

CaptainPlump · 08/07/2008 22:27

I've ordered one for myself, and if and when DS no longer has need of it I will follow your example and pass it on to a mum in need here on MN. Thanks for the idea cyberseraphim!

sphil · 09/07/2008 09:51

Ooh - how exciting! Thanks MiniCyber .
I've just changed emails and think MN still have my old one - will go off to check now.

We're starting (again!) with DS2 in summer hols -as I said I'll know in a few weeks whether it's going to help or not, and if not I'll send it on to next person straight away. Do you have a waiting list Cyber?

cyberseraphim · 09/07/2008 09:55

Not really - we only took one name out of the sun hat. But taking the adoption line seriously, I could start to research suitability, home background etc Do you smoke, drink, eat too much, think inappropriate thoughts...?

OP posts:
sphil · 09/07/2008 09:59

No yes yes yes .

Have just amended email details and renewed CAT, so should be full steam ahead.

cyberseraphim · 09/07/2008 10:00

What is CAT and how do I access it ?
