Overwhelmed by vocal stims

My child is non verbal but is very very noisy all the time with repetitive vocal ticks or stims and I dont know if its taboo to say but these constant noises are really impacting my mental health. I feel so overwhelmed and overstimulated all the time hearing clicky noises, screeches, throat clearing, humming, lip smacking.

Any other parents at their limit with the constant noises??? How do you cope?

I second noise cancelling earphones/headphones.

I find it really overwhelming too. I have the Loop Engage ear plugs and they help dull the noise while still allowing me to hear what’s going on around me. Has DC had any OT sessions? DS has been vocal stimming and mouthing objects much less since we got him a spinning chair, as he is getting sensory input from the chair.

Thank you everyone, yeah the loop headphones sound good as I do need to be able to hear some things as we also have other younger children so need to be listening out etc!

I do think like @mayflowers9 says its a sensory seeking thing and maybe something like a spinny chair would help. I am glad that seems to have helped your DS!
