Is it bad that the outcome I'm wanting is a small problem that is easily fixable, rather than there being no problem?

No problem brings us to square one with her speech issues. A small problem gives us answers

for the appointment....and don;t feel bad for hoping for there being a problem. THAT is exactly how I feel regarding DS2 and DD3!!!!

That's great news. Don't feel bad. I have a health issue that has no diagnosis and it is a PITA. At least if you know what it is you can a. Get it fixed. or b. Learn how to help her with her speech.

Not too long to wait now either, 2nd July will here in no time!

(don't suppose it's in wiltshire????!!!!)

Flamesparrow · 21/06/2008 10:15

Nope, tis in Bournemouth. I'm a bit now though - just spotted it is with the community paed guy I saw before.

Still, I guess he knows what he's doing

i guess he's either multi-skilled...multi-tasking otherwise you are right to be

Our paed is a community pead and she deals with everything...so it's possible that he knows what he's doing...just possibly!!!!

Flamesparrow · 21/06/2008 19:26

Not overly confident with him after seeing him about AS concerns and he kept assuring me she wasn't autistic (as in classic autism) I never said she was!!!!

doing the happy appointment dance

odd that its with someone you have already seen though...

Hope you get it sorted. Our community paed used to do audiology appointments. Not sure what your DC's issues are but the paed will probably check for glue ear etc and then an audiologist will conduct hearing tests and then report back to her for next step. DD has been through all this, had grommets fitted and still can't speak but it's good to have it all looked at.
