Son not going swimming with rest of class

My son is 9 and unable to go swimming with the other kids from his class. It's really just because he wouldn't be able to dry and dress himself properly after without support and especially in those tiny changing rooms. I feel like I've let him down, he can dress himself a bit but not without support and it would make it so much more difficult if he was soaking wet.
He loves the water as well. Just feeling sad today and also it magnifies how behind he is to the rest of the other kids. Don't know why I'm writing this , just hoping others will understand.
I should also add it was my decision for him not to go swimming.

Would you / he feel comfortable with him having support to get dressed?

DS can’t dress himself properly and he was assigned 2 staff (for safeguarding) to support him. They verbally guided him and could assist if he needed it.

otherwise he would have just put his clothes on soaking wet and likely would have been a bit jumbled in what he was wearing.

There was one week where he completely dysregulated and walked back to school (only about a 3 minute walk) in his swimmers and poncho towel after they checked with DH by phone whether this would be ok. By the time he got back to school he was ready to get dressed!

In case you aren’t aware, the school can support DS to change.

Is there a disabled changing area?
