SN children

Here are some suggested organisations that offer expert advice on special needs.

Is a statement from another EU country worth the paper it is written on? My PDD-NOS ds is statemented in Italy, which has a similar statementing process.

I think that the least a LEA can do is to take this "european" statement into consideration. But may they be forced to accept and convert it to a local UK statement? This Q is likely for Attila who seems to be our resident legal guru. :-)

My counsel to you would be to speak directly to IPSEA website is www.ipsea.org.uk or SOS;SEN. I honestly do not know whether a foreign based educational special needs documented would be fully accepted by the LEA in question.

There is no specific European Union law for special needs provision for children (unless you count declaration on human rights) so an italian statement would not have legal force but hopefully would be taken into account
