Here are some suggested organisations that offer expert advice on special needs.

Hello - I was wondering if you could help with a question.

I hope this isn't seen as SPAM as it is a genuine enquiry.

I run a business named Giggleicious, making gifts and clothing for babies and toddlers. One of my product lines is bandana bibs (see picture at the end of post). Recently at a craft fair a lady approached me and told me her daughter has to get her 7 year old sons bibs made by a local lady as she cannot find any nice bibs for him.
I have had a search and have found some bibs but there does seem to be a lack of funky nice colourful bibs for both adults and teenagers. I have often seen special needs older children and adults where a muslin or piece of towel is used instead.

I was wondering if you think that there us a lack of nice bibs for both younger children, teenagers and adults? If so, do you think there is a need for a plastic layer to be between the cloth to help with protection of clothing and would a toweling back be preferred? (Currently mine are cotton both sides with not waterproof layer.)

Thank you for your time and help.

Kind regards

Larissa

I think a few people use the larger size bandana bibs. We use muzzis (dyed funky colours) because it's only really for mealtimes and that's sufficient. As a drool bib I think you'd want a plastic or upvc backing. Anyway, try cross-posting on www.specialkidsintheuk.org - they have a fair proportion of bib wearers there who could give you feedback on what they currently use.

I make my own and use PUL as a backing, cotton side out.

tbh mos of the young people I know wear the badana type ones. i think if you have a teen you want to get away from bibs.

Thanks for the info. PUL sounds like just what I am looking for thank you. I can't find Muzzies though. Is that how it is spelled? And I'll head over to that site thank you.

2shoes - I can look at other designs but I think maybe it's a difficult one. I think bibs are bibs how ever you look at them and bandana bibs would surely be preferable to a piece of towel? This is for teenagers and adults that need something a lot of the time rather than just at meals. I will research views on bibs for teenagers and adults further though as well.
