Changing schools due to SEN assistance / provisions after only 10 weeks in reception.

I feel I made a mistake in my school choice.

my child has now been diagnosed with Austim (PDA profile) and after seeing multi disciplinary teams they confirmed they are confident in giving diagnosis without the school report etc.

anywho, I picked a close (1 minute walk) small catholic school, he’s behaviour has got significantly worse and more unregulated as he is getting older. The school, although he has social issues and parents have raised concerns etc, there attitude is quite dismissive and there has been no pro activeness with them saying they do not see it, but I know if my child is being unkind its due to his struggles, so they are missing these things that he needs assistance with & they do not have any SEN provisions.

there is a school, only 15 minutes walk that has many SEN provisions such as family liaison's, sen support teams, sen classrooms, sen behavioural therapy clubs, sensory room, and these are provided without ECHP

im not sure how the process works, and how this will impact him etc, I just know now is the time to do it while he is young & I of course just want the best for him

has anyone got experience of this process?

The first question to ask is does the other school even have a place for an in-year admission? If not, because DS is in reception it may well be an infant class size appeal, which are only successful in very particular circumstances none of which you mention.

Have you requested an EHCNA?

Request another meeting with the current SENCO. The must make reasonable adjustments and they must make their best endeavours to meet DS’s SEN.
