Advice needed for a friend

Hello,

I feel bad doing this, but I think a friend at work really needs some support.

I will try to be vague so I dont hurt her feelings, but I really think you are the guys to help!

Her DS (10) has been diagnosed with Aspergers.

Is there any website (apart from this one) she can look at that will help?

Any advice welcomed
(Especially to keep my hooter out)

National Autism Society has links to local branches. Each one has different activities, support groups etc but there is also advice about disability living allowance applications (he would be entitled.)
www.autism-forum.co.uk is one I've just joined.
Would tell her to get on a general parenting forum like this one though, it's been so reassuring for me from the moment I conceded we had a problem to know there were hundreds of Mumsnetters who had been there already.

This is def. the best thing I've found. For me I like the fact that it is real people going through the same stuff - really wish I'd found it sooner! Don't think you should keep your hooter out - sounds like she could do with someone looking out for her.

And the people here, who are great.

Amber (adult with Asperger syndrome, married mum, business owner etc etc - it's not all bad )
